Karachi: Bank robbery in Taimuria
KARACHI: Six armed bandits committed a robbery into a private bank in the Taimuria police limits. They made off with Rs3.5 million within six to seven minutes. The bank staff and eyewitnesses said that it was early Saturday morning at 9:20am when six armed bandits wearing pant shirt and shalwar kameez loaded with TT pistols broke into the bank.
The bandits snatched the repeater and a TT pistol from both the guards posted at the bank. The guards without resistance handed over their guns. Later the criminals went inside bank’s store room and robbed the cash and fled. The whole incident was carried out within six to seven minutes. Before fleeing, the criminals also took with them the whole camera system with recorders.
SPO Shadman Shah Jehan Khan said that the dacoity was reported in the United Bank Limited (UBL) Sakhi Hassan Branch, Taimuria police limits. Regarding the police presence SPO Khan said that two constables were posted near the bank for security that had gone to the hotel for a cup of tea.
