Karachi: Security guard among 2 killed
KARACHI: Two people, including a security guard of the SP SITE Town, were killed and another was injured in a robbery incident in two different places on Saturday. Thirty–five–year–old Constable Sikander was on his way to work on his bike, when he was intercepted by two armed men near the Saeedabad police station. The men ordered him to hand over cash and his mobile phone at gunpoint. When he resisted they shot him dead and fled.
A mobile van of Saeedabad police station reached the spot after hearing the gunshots. They took Sikander’s body to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for an autopsy. The police said that the deceased was a security guard of the SP SITE Town. He hailed from Tando Jam.
In a separate incident, four bandits barged into a house situated in Sector 14/B, Baldia Town in the Baldia Town police jurisdiction. The house was owned by 30–year–old Atif. The bandits at gunpoint locked all the residents in a room. Two of them stayed on guard, while the others collected cash, jewellery and other valuables. When Atif and his brother Arif, resisted the armed men, their accomplices shot at them and fled along with the booty. The family took both brothers to the ASH in a critical condition, where Atif died during treatment.
