Lahore: 5 cops testify that 7-year-old was raped
LAHORE: Five police witnesses testified before the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Qamar Ijaz on Saturday that a seven-year-old girl, T, had been raped. The policemen are officials of the Narang Mandi Police Station, where the case was registered and the investigation was conducted. The policemen are: Sub-Inspector Safdar Ali; head constables Muhammad Tariq and Muhammad Akbar; and constables Muhammad Safdar and Muhammad Yousuf.
They told the court that they had evidence that proved that the accused rapist had committed the crime. After recording their statements, the judge put off the hearing until September 6. According to the prosecution, the accused, Z, raped T on March 11 with the help of three accomplices. Free Legal Assistance and Settlement Chairman Sheikh Anis AA Saadi, Muhammad Irfan Mukhtar and Imran Ali are voluntarily representing the victim in court.
