Rawalpindi: 10 Drug Traffickers Held
RAWALPINDI: The city police on Saturday arrested 10 drug traffickers and recovered four–kilogramme hashish and over 1kg heroin from their possession, while Taxila police foiled two bids to smuggle wheat from Rawalpindi to NWFP and seized 500 wheat bags of 100kg each and arrested two truck drivers.
Police said the 10 alleged drug smugglers arrested by various police stations include Darya Khan, Raza Muhammad, Umair, Sajjad, Shahbaz, Iqbal, Tariq, Muhammad Shakoor, Shah Masood and Tariq Mehmood.
Police seized over two–kilogramme hashish from the custody of Shah Masood and one kilogram heroin from the possession of Tariq Mehmood. Separate cases have been registered against the accused and investigation started.
Meanwhile, Taxila police foiled two attempts to smuggle wheat from Rawalpindi to NWFP and seized two trucks carrying 500 wheat bags of 100 kilogram each. Truck drivers Wasif Ali and Muhammad Rafiq did not have legal documents to transport wheat bags to NWFP. A case has been registered and investigations started.
Meanwhile, four vehicles, including two cars, were stolen from the limits of various police stations.
Muhammad Nadeem`s car was stolen from the limits of Civil Lines Police Station, Muhammad Ilyas` car was stolen from Lane Number 7 located in the limits of Westridge Police Station, Khayam Gulraiz` motorbike was lifted from the limits of Waris Khan Police Station, while Saifullah`s motorbike was stolen from Commercial Market.
