Karachi: ‘Amer Hasan was killed with a silencer-fitted pistol’
KARACHI: Sheikh Amer Hasan was killed with a silencer–fitted pistol by unidentified criminals, investigators believe. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shahid Hayat Khan said that on a detailed examination of Hasan’s head, it seemed that the criminals possessed a silencer–fitted pistol. The police are also taking into account the fact that no empty cartridges of used bullets had been found from the crime scene.
SSP Khan added that Ali Saleem, in his statement, said that on the night of the murder, he along with Hasan, was present at Shayan Malik’s party at the latter’s Defence residence. Saleem and Hasan left late at night, and the latter dropped Saleem off home. Later, on Saturday morning Saleem received a call that Hasan had been found dead inside his house. SSP Khan maintained that they had received the cellular data of the victim’s phone number and were now reviewing his calls.
Furthermore, the hair of a woman had also been found from Hasan’s house. This could confirm the presence of a girl during the murder, an investigator said, adding that Hasan’s stomach was full of alcohol. The exact facts can, however, be ascertained only after the medico–legal and chemical examiner’s reports are received, he said. These reports are expected to be given to the police on Wednesday. Further investigation is under way.
