Rawalpindi: 2 get bail in fake currency case
RAWALPINDI: A Division Bench of Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi Bench Monday granted bails to two accused, Nasir Mehmood and Abdul Aziz, for their alleged involvement in preparing fake currency, stamp papers, coins and saving bonds. The NAB officials had arrested two accused along with eleven others from Karachi in February 2007 and since then they had been behind the bars.
Lawyer to the accused while arguing his case said that the prime accused in this case has already been granted bail by the apex court so keeping these co–accused behind the bars is unjustified. He said that no substantial recovery was made from both of these two and only a machine that was recovered from these that was described as a machine to mold coins.
The Division Bench comprising Justice Maulvi Anwarul Haq and Justice Mazhar Hussain Minhas granted bails to the accused against surety bonds of 0.5millions each with two personal sureties.
