Islamabad: Attack on PM’s car: FIR registered
ISLAMABAD: The Capital City Police have registered an FIR against unknown attackers under Anti–Terrorist Act on the complaint of the premier’s gunman. The prime minister’s gunman, Razzaq Mehmud, (6192/C) has lodged a written complaint with the Koral police station, saying he was asked to join the motorcade to pick Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani from Benazir Bhutto International Airport, who was coming from Lahore on Wednesday.
He said he was in the prime minister’s Mercedes car driven by staff driver Pervaiz Akhtar. “As we were passing through Islamabad Highway at 12.35pm, two bullets hit the window on the driver’s side,” he said, adding shots were fired from the right side of the car, aiming to kill them. The premier’s gunman suspected a terrorist outfit could be involved in the firing. The Koral police have registered FIR (197) and a case against unknown attackers under sections 7 ATA (anti terrorist act), 427, 109, 324/34 PPC and started investigation.
