Karachi: Contractor shot dead
KARACHI: A contractor was shot dead by armed robbers near the Al–Falah police station on Saturday. Thirty–five–year–old Rafiq Muzaffar was shot dead in the Al–Falah police limits. His family said that Muzaffar was on his way home with him wife, Shakeela. The couple were travelling in their car (ARD–682). When they reached Malir–15, Sharea Faisal at around 4am, they noticed that two people on a bike were following them.
Muzaffar figured something was wrong and tried to reach the Al–Falah Police Station. When he reached the main gate of the police station the bandits shot at and injured him, before escaping. Muzaffar was rushed to the Al–Shamsi Hospital where doctors referred him to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC). Doctors at the JPMC pronounced him dead upon arrival.
The police said that the deceased was a contractor-cum-builder by profession and has left behind two wives and a minor child. He was going to his second wife’s house in Tariq bin Zaid Society when he was killed.
A case was registered on the complaint of his father Mohammed Yaqoob who said that they had no enmity with anyone and his son was gunned down by dacoits. Investigation is underway.
