Lahore: Warrants for doctor, others in minor’s rape case
LAHORE: Additional District and Sessions Judge Qamar Ijaz on Saturday issued non–bailable arrest warrants for a doctor and four other prosecution witnesses for not complying with the court orders to submit their statements in a trial of a rape–accused of 7-year old orphan girl, Tayyaba. The court issued non–bailable arrest warrants for Dr Abid of Tehsil Headquarter Hospital Mureedke, Sub Inspector (Investigation) and Moharrar of Police Station Narang Mandi. The court issued these orders against them for not appearing before the court on its repeated calls.
According to the prosecution story on March 11, Zubair allegedly raped Tayyaba with the abetment of Talha, Muzamil and Muzafar.
Already five police witnesses, victim Tayaba and lady doctor, who conducted victim’s medical examination, and victim’s mother had recorded their statements wherein they confirmed that the minor was raped.
Chairman Free Legal Assistance and Settlement Sh Anis AA Saadi advocate and Imran Ali voluntarily appeared before the court to defend the victim.
