LJ activist held in Karachi
KARACHI: Police on Monday arrested an activist of a banned religious outfit Lashkar-i-Jhangvi, who was involved in the Orangi blast and murder attempt on SSP (Lyari) Raja Omar Khatab in August. When contacted, SSP Khatab said the accused, identified as Zeeshan, was an activist of the Lashkar-i-Jhangvi and worked for Ali Hassan alias Naeem Amir. The SSP said Zeeshan was arrested in the Orangi blast case but later released on bail. He went to Dara Adam Khel and met with the activists of Baitullah Mehsud.
The SSP maintained the accused was also involved in the Nishtar Park blast and in the killing of Allama Hasan Turabi. Khitab, confirming the presence of Lashkar-i–Jhangvi in the city, said Ali Hasan Amir of LJ Sindh along with his accomplice are active in the city and most of the terrorist activities in the recent past might be the working of Ali Hasan group.
