Karachi: Vendor killed
KARACHI: A vendor was killed in the cross–fire between two groups in the Preedy police jurisdiction. According to the eyewitnesses, the incident was reported on Zaibunissa Street, at a rent–a-car shop, between the rent–a–car shop owner and a stranger. He said that during a verbal conversation both lost their cool and a scuffle ensued. In the meantime the stranger opened fire which hit a vendor Afzaal, who died on the spot, and injured two passers-by. Later, the police reached the spot and caught the rent–a–car shop owner, while the stranger fled.
The police said that, the deceased was identified as Afzaal, a vendor by profession and a resident of Korangi. According to the statement of Mohammed Ali, owner of the rent–a–car business, he had a petty dispute with one Faisal and in this regard he had also paid cheques of different amounts to him with a balance of Rs0.2 million remaining.
On Thursday evening, Faisal came to his shop and started off a quarrel and in the meantime, he pulled out his handgun and opened fire, which hit the vendor who died, and the accused then fled. A case was reported at the police station.
