Karachi: 3 shot dead; 1 killed by kite string
KARACHI: Unidentified armed men shot and killed two activists belonging to the Mohajir Qaumi Movement after inflicting physical torture on them in the Landhi police area, while an activist of Muttahida Qaumi Movement was shot dead in Orangi Town police limits. The bullet–riddled bodies of Shahzeb, alias Sheri, 19, and Arif, 22, bearing marks of physical torture, were in the Landhi police area. According to the eyewitnesses when two motorcyclists neared the Jauhar Library, unidentified armed encircled them and after inflicting physical torture on them, sprayed bullets on one of them and kidnapped the other one.
The Landhi police said that the slain person was identified as Shahzeb, 19, resident of Khurramabad, Landhi No I. Later they started searching the kidnapped boy. On Wednesday morning, information received that a corpse was lying near the Noor Manzil.
Police rushed to the spot and found the other body, identified as Arif, 22, a resident of Area–37B, Landhi No 1. Arif was an electrician by profession. The police maintained that both the deceased were the activists of the MQM–H. A case was reported on behalf of the state.
In a separate case, Basit Hussain, 25, was shot dead in Orangi Town police limits. Unidentified armed motorcycle riders sprayed bullets due to which deceased died on the spot, while his minor neighbour girl, Saira, 6, was injured.
The police further said that the deceased was an activist of MQM and a mason by profession. MISHAP: A man died when a kite string cut his neck in Samanabad area. According to eyewitnesses, the deceased man was riding a motorcycle and was passing through Ancholi Road and moving towards Sohrab Goth. He was immediately rushed to Abbasi Shaheed where he succumbed to his injuries. The deceased was identified as Mohammed Afzal, 29, a resident of Abul Isphani Road area and a car painter by profession.
