Lahore: Robbers kill woman on resistance
LAHORE: Dacoits continued their strikes in the provincial metropolis on Wednesday, killing a citizen on resistance and depriving others of valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees. Three armed dacoits gunned down a woman in Badami Bagh area and fled with jewellery worth Rs 150,000 and Rs 20,000 in cash. The victim was identified as Parveen Bibi, wife of Muhammad Yaseen, a head–constable who was doing his intermediate course in Sahala. Police said that the victim was alone at home when three armed dacoits came and held her at gunpoint. They then searched the house on which Parveen resisted, prompting robbers to shoot her down.
An armed motorcyclist snatched jewellery worth Rs 135,000 from a woman in Islampura area. Malik Usman, a resident of Hashmi Street Abdali Road, told police he along with his mother was intercepted by a motorcyclist who snatched jewellery worth Rs 135,000 from his mother.
Two armed robbers broke into the house of Gulnaz Bibi, a resident of 522/C Faisal Town, held her and her daughter hostage at gunpoint. They robbed cash, jewellery and two cell phones worth Rs 250,000. Two armed motorcycle riders deprived one Syed Awais of two cell phones in Shadman area.
Two armed motorcycle riders snatched Rs 6,000 in cash, jewellery and a cell phone worth Rs 60,000 from a family in Sabzazar area. The victim, Mohammad Hamid Insari, a resident of 177/G, and his family members were standing outside their house when two armed motorcycle riders arrived there and took from them Rs 6,000 in cash, jewellery and a cell phone worth Rs 60,000.
Three armed dacoits broke into the house of Shahbaz Ahmad in North Cantt area and robbed jewellery and two cell phones worth Rs 70,000.
