Karachi: Jewellery store robbed
KARACHI: Two armed men struck at a goldsmith’s workshop in the Saddar police limits on Friday and took away several kilogrammes of gold worth millions of rupees. At about 3.30 p.m., two armed men reportedly barged into Singapore Jewellers, situated near United Bakery in Saddar, and looted cash and jewelry from the shop owner Babar Saleem at gunpoint. They also robbed the customers present in the shop and deprived them of their cell phones. The two robbers had managed to snatch the weapons of the shop’s guards upon entry. The robbers fled the scene with the booty.
The owner told the police that he wasn’t sure how much the total value of the robbed items was. Later, the owner lodged an FIR in the Saddar police station. Investigators have begun preparing sketches on the details provided by the owner.
