Islamabad: Police fail to nab robbers despite fortnight lapse
ISLAMABAD: The Industrial Area Police officials have failed to nab the culprits who forcefully made their way into the house of an army officer in I-8 sector, besides manhandling family members also took away cash worth 400,000/-, ten tola gold and other valuables even after the passage of almost two weeks. Major Abdur Rehman and his brother Attiq–ur–Rehman while talking to The Nation said that he failed to understand that despite arriving at the crime scene immediately, what barred Rescue 15 officials from apprehending the robbers, who managed to escape from the scene without facing any resistance.
When contacted, the Investigation Officer of the case, Sub Inspector Ameer Ahmed Niazi told The Nation that police were facing difficulties to trace the culprits as victim party has not nominated any suspect in the case yet. But Abdur Rehman, while rejecting the Police’s version said why should we blame anyone when we don’t have solid grounds to nominate anybody”, he deplored.
“It’s the job of police to trace the culprits and arrest them, not ours”, he added.
Major Abdur Rehman said “If this can happen to the me then what to talk about ordinary and less-privileged people”, he questioned.
The residents of street 31, I-8 sector have demanded of the government to take strict action against the police officials.
