Islamabad: 4 gangs of car theives caught
ISLAMABAD: The capital police have arrested 11 alleged members of four inter-provincial gangs involved in vehicles snatching and recovered three pistols, two vehicles, cash and mobile phones from their possession. According to a press statement issued here on Thursday, the arrested persons included Mujahid Shah, Muhammad Yousaf, Iqbal Uddin, Nargis Kanwal, Sher Jan, Shah Muhammad, Javed Iqbal alias Papu, Khurram Shehzad, Rehmat Gul, Zaheer Abbass and Talib Hussain.
According to police, they have confessed their involvement in various car–snatching cases. They were used to hire the cars and snatched those while on their way. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ahmad Latif has directed the station house officers (SHOs) and sub divisional police officers (SDPOs) to ensure effective patrolling in their areas to curb the criminal activities.
