Rawalpindi: Boy’s body recovered, neighbours suspected
RAWALPINDI: The city police’s Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) on Friday arrested three men for killing a 16–year–old local boy and dumping the body in Murree. The information gleaned from the kidnappers, who lived in the boy’s neighbourhood, led to the body’s recovery in an abandoned area of Murree. The body was in a state of dilapidation, it’s learnt reliably. The boy, Fawad Ahmed, was kidnapped in Gulraiz Colony II three days ago when he was on way to a private tuition centre.
The kidnappers contacted boy’s father, Qazi Maqsood, an herbalist, over telephone and demanded five million rupees ransom for his child’s safe release. They warned that any contact with police could result in the boy’s death.
Maqsood, however, lodged a complaint of his child’s kidnapping against unidentified persons with Airport Police. In the meantime, he agreed to pay kidnappers Rs four million ransom.
The sources said the kidnappers had told the interrogators that the boy had recognised them, so they had to kill him for fear of their life.
They said the CIA traced the kidnappers, Ayaz and two brothers Rizwan and Imran through mobile tracking system.
Police handed over the body to the family after autopsy and began investigation.
