Islamabad: Motorway Police recover 3 stolen vehicles
ISLAMABAD: The Motorway Police have recovered three vehicles, stolen from different cities of the country and arrested one carjacker, the police said. The Motorway Police was informed though NH&MP Helpline ‘130’ that a Suzuki Carry bearing registration no. AJKP–9339 has been stolen from Rawalpindi and the Motorway Police may help. Therefore, all the patrolling cars of NH&MP were got alerted. After few minutes, the Motorway Police officers stopped the said car near Kallar Kahar and arrested one culprit named Atta Parvaz son of Shahnaz, hailing from Rawalpindi.
In another incident, Motorway Police was informed that a white XLI car, No. LED-4580, has been stolen from Mandara, therefore, a suspicious car of same model and colour was signalled to stop, but the driver of the car instead of stopping tried to speed away. However, on chasing the culprit left the car some far away place and fled away by taking the advantage of darkness of night. On search it was found out that the car was the same which was stolen from Mandra. In third incident, Motorway Police got information that a blue Suzuki Mehran (LEJ–4116) has been stolen. After few minutes the same car was seen on Motorway, M-2, near Sheikhupura. The police tried to stop the car but the driver sped away. However, on chasing the culprit left the car and fled away after crossing the fence. The Motorway Police informed the local police and the owners of the vehicles about all these incidents.
