Lakki Marwat: Murder-accused handed life term, fined
LAKKI MARWAT: Additional Sessions Judge Mehmoodul Hassan Khattak Friday sentenced Rehmatullah, accused of murder, to life in prison and fined him Rs200,000. The court also convicted Rehmatullah in another cases of attack on police party and awarded him two years rigorous imprisonment and Rs5,000 as fine. Rehmatullah was arrested in the murder case of one Gul Dad Khan killed in Pezu Bazaar on July 7, 2006. Later, Rehmatullah was arrested with a pistol after being injured in exchange of firing with a police party in the mountainous Darra Pezu area.
After completing investigation, the police forwarded the case to the court of Additional Sessions Judge Mehmoodul Hassan Khattak. Sultan Sheher Yar represented the plaintiff while Ashraf Khan and Ismail Alizai pleaded the case on behalf of Rehmatullah.
