Karachi: Former banker Younus Dalia acquitted
KARACHI: The Special Banking Court acquitted the former director of a bank, Younus Dalia, on Saturday. According to details, Dalia was arrested on charges of amalgamation in the yellow cab taxis scheme officially launched during the tenure of former prime minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. Dalia was accused of misappropriation of funds amounting to millions of rupees. However, Special Banking Court Judge Ghulam Hussein Mallah ordered his release on Saturday, citing a lack of sufficient proof.
Dalia was appointed as the head of the bank during the Pakistan Peoples Party’s previous tenure under the late Benazir Bhutto and was sacked during the Nawaz Sharif’s second tenure.
