Lahore: Women held for mother-in-law’s murder
LAHORE: City division CIA claimed to have traced the murderers of a woman who was killed during a robbery at her house at Shahdara. Police have arrested four accused including the deceased’s two daughters-in-law. On August 20, Ijaz Hameed, his mother Hameeda, his wife Adila Ijaz, his sister-in-law Farhat Shahzad and children were at home when four dacoits barged into the house and tied the family members with ropes. They strangled Hameeda when she raised hue and cry. They collected Rs 15,000 and valuables, including 25-tola gold ornaments, and fled.
Investigation DIG Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera directed CIA SP Muhammad Umar Virk to trace the murderers of the woman. Upon which, a special team started investigation and it was revealed that Adila Ijaz and Farhat Shahzad, daughters-in-law of Hameeda, had arranged the drama of dacoity with the help of Adila Ijaz’s brother Muhammad Ali and his friend Muhammad Fasial to kill their mother-in-law.
According to Hameeda’s daughters-in law, Hameeda was short-tempered and used to insult them. The arrested accused are Muhammad Ali, Muhammad Faisal, Adila Ijaz and Farhat Shahzad.
Capital City Police Officer Muhammad Pervez Rathore has announced cash prizes and commendatory certificates for the police team.
Labourer killed in basement collapse: A LABOURER was killed and four others injured when an under-construction basement caved in near Liberty Market on Saturday.
Rescue 1122 officials reached the spot and recovered one body of Arif, 35, and rescued four victims who were identified as Rafiq, 28, Sultan, Nazir and Sadiq. One injured Rafiq s/o M. Shafi, resident of Chuck No. 16, Dist Multan, was shifted to Services Hospital Lahore while others were given first aid on the spot.
The incident occurred at around 3 am on Saturday when the labourers were busy in digging up the basement of an under construction building. As a result, the victim came under the debris.
Rescue 1122 responded within 4 minutes and started the rescue operation which ended after two hours.
