Karachi: 4 militants arrested in Sohrab Goth
KARACHI: Four militants suspected of having links with the Taliban were arrested on Sunday from Sohrab Goth by the staff of the Crime Investigation Department (CID). Sources said that the staff of the CID, along with intelligence personnel, received a tip-off that some militants were present in Al–Asif Square, Sohrab Goth. The team conducted a raid and arrested four suspected militants after some resistance. The suspects were said to have been linked with the Taliban and a substantial quantity of arms and explosives were recovered from their possession.
IG Sindh Babar Khattak confirmed the arrest of the high-value criminals. While he was reluctant to confirm whether or not the arrested were indeed militants and whether they were members of banned extremist outfits, he did, however, say that they were high-value pick ups and were wanted in serious offences across the city. He said that the police would inform the media in the next few days regarding the nature of those captured.
Meanwhile, acting on information, intelligence personnel conducted a raid in Lines Area near Jamia Ehtashaam and arrested two suspects, identified as Kashif and Imran, as well as three women, and took them to some unknown place for interrogation.
