Karachi: Wanted Ghaffar Zikri aide arrested
KARACHI: The staff of the Intelligence personnel and investigators of police have arrested a wanted accomplice of Lyari gangster Ghaffar Zikri from Lines Area with the recovery of arms and a bag of hand grenades. Intelligence sources said that they had received information that a wanted accomplice of Zikri’s was present in Jacob Lines Sector-1A, within the Brigade police limits. Acting on the tip off, a huge contingency of police and intelligence personnel conducted a raid and arrested three people including the owner of the house and three women. The personnel also recovered huge quantity of arms, ammunition and a bag filled with hand grenades and took the suspect to an unknown destination.
Residents of Jacob Lines said that late Saturday night, “commando action” took place in the area, as there were about 15 to 17 police mobiles including a bus and the personnel were in police uniform and civvies and they broke into the house of Kashif and arrested two persons along with three women.
Intelligence sources said that, the held suspects were identified as Kashif, the owner of the house, who was released after interrogation, while the main suspect Noora Mohajir, a close aide of Zikri’s, who was wanted by the police in several criminal cases, and also arrested Noora’s accomplice Irfan along with the three women.
They added that among the three women arrested two were the wives of Noora Mohajir, while the other was the wife of accused Irfan. All three women were released in Clifton. Three pistols and a gunny bag full of hand grenades were recovered. Further probe is underway.
