Lahore: Non-bailable warrants for jail official
LAHORE: Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Ibrahim Asghar Wednesday issued non–bailable arrest warrants of the deputy superintendent of District Jail Lahore and ordered police to produce him in court after arrest. Aftab Ahmad Bajwa, the counsel for alleged murder accused Rafique Ilyas, submitted in the court that he was tortured by police officials in district jail. The court then directed the deputy superintendent jail to submit his medical report in court within fifteen days.
Later, police officials after preparing fake medical report submitted it in the court. The court rejected the medical report and ordered to conduct the accused’s medical checkup from Services Hospital. Instead of conducting his medical check-up, jail authorities transferred the accused to Kasur jail. On the compliant of Ilyas’s council, the court directed police to produce the official in handcuffs on September 26.
