Rawalpindi: Car, bike stolen; 13 suspects arrested
RAWALPINDI: Two incidents of car and motorcycle lifting were reported from different areas of Rawalpindi on Thursday, while police arrested 13 suspects recovering arms, liquor and drugs from them. Muhammad Faraz, resident of Kuri Road, lodged a complaint with New Town police station that his car (LC–486) was stolen from Commercial Market Satellite Town where he had parked it for Eid shopping. Naveed Khan, resident of Babu Mohallah, registered a complaint with Banni police station that his motorcycle (IDH 8447) was lifted from Angatpura.
Meanwhile, the city police have arrested 13 men and recovered eight pistols, 20,484 bottles of liquor and 400 grams of hashish from them. According to police, eight accused identified as Waheed, Arshad, Safdar, Nazir, Suleman, Faridullah, Ayub Khan and Naseem were arrested for possessing illegal weapons.
The Civil Lines police recovered 600 bottles of liquor from Naeem Afzal, Airport police recovered 1,000 bottles of liquor from Ashik Hussain and Kahuta police recovered 484 bottles of liquor from Abid Hussain.
They said 400–gram hashish was recovered from Nasir, Shahid and Turab Ali.
Taxila police also nabbed two persons for smuggling flour to NWFP and recovered 206 flour bags of 100 kg and 400 bags of 50kg from them.
