Lahore: Rape of 7-year-old girl LHC issues summons to SI
LAHORE: Additional District and Sessions Judge Qamar Ijaz on Saturday issued a notice to a sub–inspector (SI) to present the report of a potency test from one Z, who has been accused of raping a 7-year-old orphan girl. The specimens for the test were taken a few months ago, however, the report has still not been received by the court. At the last date of the hearing, the judge had summoned the SI after receiving a report from Dr Abid Hussain of Tehsil Headquarter Hospital Muridke, saying that he had received the specimen and had sent it to Mayo Hospital Lahore for the potency test.
Counsel for the victim, Free Legal Assistance and Settlement Chairman Anis AA Saadi advocate, said that the delay in the report was favouring the victim, adding that the test could be conducted by any DHQ hospital. The proceedings were then adjourned until October 11, after the judge was informed that SI Muhammad Akram was currently on training at the Police College Sehala and was unable to receive the court summons.
