Lakki Marwat: Flour smugglers arrested
LAKKI MARWAT: The district police Saturday claimed having foiled a number of bids to smuggle flour and wheat to the tribal areas by recovering huge quantity of the commodity during a crackdown on smugglers. Receiving a tip-off, Naurang Police barricaded the road leading to the Frontier region and recovered 50 bags of wheat from a vehicle (BUC–6174). The alleged smuggler Wali Rahman could not produce any official documents regarding transportation of the commodity to the tribal area.
Meanwhile, Lakki Police impounded six pick-ups on way to the tribal areas and recovered 60 bags of flour and 162 bags of wheat from the vehicles. The police arrested Saqibullah, Akbar Ali, Hayatullah, Habibullah, Abdul Rashid and Mustafa for illegally transporting the commodity to the tribal belt. Separate cases have been registered against the alleged smugglers in Lakki and Naurang police stations.
