Rawalpindi: Remand of POF blast accused extended
RAWALPINDI: Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) No II on Monday extended for 14 days judicial remand of a suspected terrorist who was arrested by Wah Cantonment police for his alleged involvement in two suicide attacks on Pakistan Ordnance Factory (POF) on August 21 that killed over 75 people and injured over 100. Judge Sakhi Muhammad Kahoot sent Hameedullah Mehsood of South Waziristan Agency (SWA) to jail after Wah Cantonment Police Station house officer (SHO) sought judicial custody of the accused for 14 more days.
The SHO told court that charge sheet against the accused had been prepared but it was being checked and the accused was not presented before the court due to security risks. The court adjourned hearing into case till October 13. The police have kept the accused in custody for 27 days after he was arrested on August 21 following the two suicide attacks.
