Rawalpindi: Kidnappers remanded for 6 days
RAWALPINDI: Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) No I on Friday extended for six days physical remand of four alleged kidnappers. Judge Chaudhary Habibur Rehman adjourned till November 6 hearing into a kidnapping case against Sakhi Marjan, Ayub Khan, Qamar Zaman and Fazal Deen Shah. The four were presented before the court after completion of their seven–day physical remand. Haji Muhammad Anwar Khan, a resident of Pirwadhi, was kidnapped for Rs 3 million ransom nearly a month ago. The affected family paid kidnapers Rs 0.7 million ransom but they did not release Anwar Khan.
Later, the police traced their phone calls and recovered Khan from their hideout in Lala Zar on October 23. Investigation officer (IO) of the case informed the court that the police had yet to recover Rs 0.7 million from the kidnappers.
The court granted their remand for six days to further the investigation.
