Karachi: Gamblers held
KARACHI: The Jamshed Town police have arrested six gamblers laying wagers on the Australia–India test match and recovered 25 telephone sets and two LCD screens. SSP Javed Akber of Jamshed Town said that, several complaints were received by his office to the effect that some persons residing at a building situated opposite Tariq Road were involved in gambling. He dispatched a police party, which conducted a raid and arrested known gambler Javed, alias UBL, Sohail and Qasim along with five others and recovered 25 telephone sets, two LCD screens, receipts and a contact list and also recovered a computer in which they had data of various gamblers working outside and inside Pakistan. During investigation, the accused disclosed that they had links to the international gamblers market. Further probe is under way.
