Lahore: Counterfeiters of currency notes arrested
LAHORE: The CIA Police, Saddar Division, have busted an inter-provincial gang involved in producing fake currency and arrested its three members and seized fake currency and instruments. These criminals were arrested by a special team headed by SP CIA Muhammad Umar Virk on the directions of Capital City Police Officer Muhammad Pervez Rathore. These criminals were involved in this business for a long time. The police have recovered one press machine, cutter, computer, colour and fake currency worth rupees 11 lakh. The arrested were identified as Muhammad Sharif, Abdul Qayuum and Muhammad Anwar. A case has been registered against them and further investigation is in progress.

ASI arrested red–handed for bribery: The Anti-Corruption Establishment has arrested Assistant Sub–Inspector of Punjab Police Muhammad Nadeem, posted at Shalimar police station, red–handed while taking gratification and sent him to jail on judicial remand.
Javed Iqbal, a resident of Mughalpura area, lodged an application with the director of Anti-Corruption Lahore Region that ASI Muhammad Nadeem was demanding gratification to proceed investigation of a property case on merit.
The Anti-Corruption Authorities decided to arrest the accused red–handed following which Sajjad Ahmad, Assistant Director Anti-Corruption Investigations Lahore Region, conducted a raid under the supervision of Magistrate Naeem Iqbal Bokhari at a Tikka Shop at Shalimar Link Road where the applicant had invited Muhammad Nadeem, ASI, at lunch just to pay the gratification.
The raiding team of ACE arrested Muhammad Nadeem, Assistant Sub–Inspector, caught him red–handed when he was receiving an amount of Rs. 5,000 as gratification from Javed Iqbal, the complainant. The raiding team recovered the amount of gratification from the accused and sent him to jail on judicial remand after registering a case.
Gang of criminals busted: The CIA Police, Cantt Division, have busted a gang of criminals involved in a number of dacoities, street crimes and robbery and arrested its four members and seized cash and cell phones as well as illegal weapons from them.
The accused have confessed to a number of such incidents during a preliminary interrogation. A special team was constituted under the supervision of DSP CIA Cantt Mian Ather Farooq and other officials which collected the particulars of Rizwan Dacoit Gang and arrested its four members on a tip-off from Gujjarpura graveyard. The criminals of this gang used to snatch valuables at gunpoint from passersby on rented motorcycles. Around six cases have also been traced against them in Factory Area police station. The arrested were identified as ringleader Rizwan alias Jan, Shahzad alias Sher Khan, Asif Ali and Muhammad Mudassir. Further investigation is in progress.
Capital City Police Officer Muhammad Pervez Rathore has announced the cash prizes and commendatory certificates for the police raiding team. Five dacoits arrested: Millat Park and Barki police on Thursday claimed to have arrested five members of two dacoit gangs and recovered booty from them.
The arrested accused of Needi gang were identified as ringleader Naveed alias Needi and Saleem. The arrested members of Judgi gang were identified as Ijaz alias Judgi, Azam Ali and Yousaf alias Nanna.
Booty; including cash, eight motorbikes, mobile phones; was recovered from them. Operations SSP Ch Shafiq Ahmad has announced cash prizes and commendatory certificates for the police teams.
ASI, four dacoits killed in encounter: An ASI of Anti–vehicles Lifting Staff, Sadar division, was killed while four dacoits were shot dead in an encounter at Raja Farmhouse near Saggian Bridge on Thursday morning.
The encounter took place at the farmhouse, owned by UC-85 Nazim Malik Azam, at around 9:15am when the alleged dacoits opened indiscriminate fire on a police party.
Anti-Vehicles Lifting Staff of Sadar division received information that five dacoits snatched a car, No LEE–8418, from Jahangir near Nishaatabad, Faisalabad, on early Thursday. A tracker was installed in the car and the tracker company informed the police that it was at the farmhouse of Malik Azam near Saggian Chowk. Investigation DIG Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera directed Investigation SSP Zulfiqar Hameed to take action. A special team under the supervision of CRO SP Jahanzeb Nazir Khan went to arrest the criminals. The police team raided the said place and the dacoits stared firing. The police retaliated and the encounter stared which continued for more than one and half an hour in which ASA Muhammad Akram sustained bullet injuries and he died on way to hospital. Four dacoits were also killed. They were identified as Muhammad Iqbal, Master Ejaz, Zulfiqar Ali and Mohsin Nawaz while their accomplice Malik Azam managed to escape from the spot along with sophisticated weapons.
The police seized three Kalashnikovs, one 7mm rifle and a gun from the crime scene. The dacoits were proclaimed offenders and they were wanted by the police in a number of kidnap for ransom, murders and dacoity cases.
