Most wanted dacoit held in Tando Masti
KHAIRPUR: Police claimed to have arrested a most–wanted dacoit and his five accomplices in an encounter in the limits of Tando Masti, the police said on Friday. DPO Khairpur Pir Muhamamd Shah said that on a tip-off about the presence of the most–wanted dacoit, Amir Shah, the police cordoned off village Moria Shaikh. The DPO said the dacoits opened fire on the police, which was returned. The police managed to arrest Amir Shah alias Khar Shah and his accomplices after the encounter, he said. He added that the police recovered two Kalashnikovs and several bullets from their possession.
The DPO said the A-section, Gambat and Tando Masti police took part in the operation. The DPO announced Rs 5,000 cash award for every police person who took part in the operation. Meanwhile, a woman committed self-immolation in the limits of Pir Jo Goth on Friday. Ms Darya Khatoon committed suicide by setting herself on fire in her father’s house.
