Karachi: 4 suspects picked up
KARACHI: Four suspicious perons belonging to Afghanistan were nabbed by area people in Gulberg Town and handed over to the police on Sunday. According to intelligence sources, the suspects belong to Afghanistan and, during their search, the police recovered fake entry passes and a map of a certain place (that remained undisclosed) in Karachi from their possession. The suspects were identified as Barkat, Mohammed Nasir, Barakallah and Mohammed Zakaria. The police suspect that they might have links with the Taliban and had some plans to carry out terrorist attacks in the city.
According to the residents of Ancholi area (Gulberg Town), five persons, including one wearing a “jacket,” were present inside a ground near Chaharda Masomeen Imambargah. The residents developed strong suspicion and approached them in the form of a group.
Upon seeing the people approaching them, the strangers tried to flee. However, the area people managed to catch four of them while the “jacket–wearing person” managed to slip away. In the meantime, a police mobile came and picked up the four men.
