Karachi: Man killed while ‘playing Antakshari’
KARACHI: A Dubai–based businessman was shot dead by his business partner, allegedly during a game of “Antakshari”, in the Darakhshan police limits late on Sunday night. The police have arrested the accused and a girl. Mohammed Asif, 32, was killed by a bullet inside his house in DHA Phase-V, while ‘playing Antakshari’ with his business partner Adeel and friend Sumaira, police said. While playing Antakshari they had a dispute and the Adeel allegedly killed his friend in front of Sumaira.
The police reached the spot after being informed about the incident and arrested Adeel and Sumaira and recovered the weapon used, and registered a murder case against them. Adeel told the police that, while they were playing Antakshari, an accidently fired bullet hit the deceased’s head who died on the spot. Sumaira’s statement supported Adeel’s version.
Zeeshan Azam, a servant of the deceased, said that, after hearing the shot, he rushed to the spot and found Asif dead while the accused were standing by the dead body.
Mohammed Munir, the brother of the deceased, said that he received a call late on Sunday night from Zeeshan about the incident. He said that he rushed to the hospital and identified the deceased and afterwards he lodged a case against Adeel and Sumaira at the police station concerned.
