Rawalpindi: Old enmity claims life
RAWALPINDI: A teenager on Monday was shot dead and two others, including a woman, sustained injuries when four assailants fired on them over an old enmity. Kahuta police said Abdul Manan, 14, was allegedly murdered and Samreen Akhtar and Ikhlaq Ahmad were shot and injured when Saddique and his accomplices fired on them. A preliminary investigation has derived an old dispute between accused and victim parties a motive for the firing incident, the police said, adding, the accused had escaped. They said the injured were shifted to a nearby hospital, while the body was handed over to bereaved family.
A murder and attempted murder case has been registered against the accused on Muhammad Nazir’s application. A prisoner passes away: An Adiala Jail prisoner, convicted of a murder, died of chest infection on Sunday night at District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital after being admitted there about 15 days ago. The jail officials said Dhudial police of Chakwal district had booked the deceased, Daroza Khan, for his involvement in a murder case. They said Khan, a drug addict, was earlier admitted to the Jail Hospital for treatment. A DHQ Hospital official said the body had been handed over aggrieved family after it was autopsied.
