Mansehra: Robbers’ gang busted, 2 killed separately
MANSEHRA: Police busted a gang of robbers and recovered Rs500,000 and gold ornaments from their possession Tuesday, it was officially learnt. Addressing a press conference at his office, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rasool Shah said that last week a gang of robbers barged into the house of Ashiq Hussain in Khaki area and in the absence of inmates looted the gold ornaments and Rs500,000. Following the registration of case, the Saddar Police raided a house and arrested Muhammad Tufail who after interrogation revealed the names of three other members of the gang — Muhammad Mohsin, Muqadar Shah and Muhammad Sheraz, he said, adding that all three were arrested from various places in Mansehra and the looted amount of Rs500,000 was recovered from them.
He said that one of the gangsters, Muqadar Shah, had gone to Raiwind to Tableeghi Ijtima (preaching congregation) and was arrested on return from Lahore. Meanwhile, two persons were killed and another was injured critically in two separate incidents. Muhammad Munir, a resident of Sangar–Balakot, was killed and his brother, Muhammad Asif, was injured critically when they resisted robbers wanting to snatch their goats at gunpoint. In another incident in Shinkiari area, Muhammad Nazeer was killed over an old enmity.
