Lahore: LHC summons SP in rape case
LAHORE: Lahore High Court Justice Hafiz Tariq Nasim on Thursday summoned Sadar division investigation SP, Lahore, to appear in person before the court on Friday (today) to explain why a sub–inspector was exonerated from a rape case by police. According to the FIR, Sub–Inspector Razzaq took a 12–year old girl (S) hostage and raped for two days after making her drink liquor. Safdar Hussain, father of the victim girl, lodged a complaint to Sattu Katla police station alleging that his neighbour Zarina intoxicated his daughter and took her to Faisalabad where her (Zarina’s) co-accused Tariq, Javed Masih, Allah Ditta and Riaz gang rapped his daughter.
Later, the SI brought the girl to his house in Lahore and raped her for two days, Safdar said. On Thursday, the court was informed that the SI was granted bail after being declared innocent by the police concerned as the victim had given a statement in his favour. The court was hearing post–arrest bail of Javed Masih when it took notice of this matter.
