Peshawar: Police seize suicide jackets, 18 Uzbeks held
PESHAWAR: Kohat police seized two suicide bombing jackets and arrested 18 Uzbek men separately on Thursday, police said. A statement issued here said that bomb disposal squad seized the jackets from a vehicle they searched on the Indus Highway. The men were moving out of Darra Adam Khel area in two vehicles when the police arrested them at a checkpost. “We arrested these foreign nationals who are of Uzbek origin and look like militants from their appearance,” local police official Lal Farid Khan told AFP. Khan said police did not find any weapons on the men, who could only speak Persian. “The police is interrogating these people to know why they had gone to Darra Adam Khel and what was their next destination,” he added.
