Rawalpindi: 2 vehicles stolen, house burgled
RAWALPINDI: Unidentified persons on Thursday took away two vehicles and burgled a house in the city’s various parts. Police said Younas’ car was lifted in the limits of New Town police station on Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Road and Shafiq’s from outside his house on Peshawar Road in the jurisdiction of Westridge police station. They said unidentified people broke into Mrs Nusrat Anwar’s house in Gulshan-e–Nayab and took away Rs 18,000 currency notes and valuables when she and her family were away. Police said they had begun investigation into these incidents after registering separate cases against the accused.
City Police also arrested eight people for carrying unlicensed weapons, narcotics and liquor in separate raids. Police said illegal weapons were recovered from Mushtaq, Mudassir and Daood, 685 grammes hashish from Rizwan and Hazrat Shah and 27 liquor bottles from Nadeem, Ramzan and Mehardil.
The police official also said 70 bags of 20kg flour were seized when Shiraz, Zareef and Faheem tried to smuggle them to the NWFP from Taxila.
