Rawalpindi: 3 Marriott suspects remanded for a week
RAWALPINDI: Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) No II on Friday sent three suspects in connection with the September 20 bombing of the Marriott hotel on a seven–day physical remand. At least 50 people were killed in last month’s suicide attack in Islamabad. The three have been identified as Dr Usman, a resident of Islamabad, Rana Ilyas from Faisalabad and Muhammad Hameed Afzal from Toba Tek Singh. Secretariat police told the court that the suspects said they had links with terrorist and jihadi organisations. Accomplices of the suspects may also been involved in the bombing, police said, adding that they had arrested the three on October 16.
