Lahore: ACE arrests 2 patwaris for corruption
LAHORE: Anti–Corruption Establishment (ACE) authorities have arrested two revenue officials and one civilian, and are continuing to conduct raids to arrest another official on charges of fraud, extortion and bribery. The complainant, Arif Hussain, had reported that Patwari Ghulam Rasool had taken Rs 400,000 as a bribe to transfer two acres of land in his name. The ACE registered the case, however, they were unable to locate the accused who went into hiding. According to a press release on Saturday, another patwari, Maboob Ali, a resident of Marh Bhangwan area was arrested for receiving Rs 80,000 as bribe from Shahbaz Ali and Rs 700,000 from Zulfiqar Ali for land transfer cases.
