Kohat: 41 more foreign militants arrested
KOHAT: Security forces arrested 41 more foreign militants in two separate actions on Sunday. In the first such action, sources said security forces arrested 32 suspected militants from a Quetta–bound passenger which was stopped at the Kohat Tunnel checkpost for checking. Most of those arrested were Uzbeks and Afghans. The sources added that militants were trying to flee the areas where military operations are in progress. Most of the exit points on the Pak–Afghan border have already been sealed by the US-led coalition forces and the militants are now reportedly trying to enter Afghanistan via Quetta. The suicide bomber, who had blown himself up at a peace Jirga at Darra Adamkhel on March 3, was also an Uzbek national.
NNI adds from Chaman: Officials of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) claimed to have arrested nine Uzbek citizens. Sources said the FIA officials raided a house in Chaman on a tip-off and arrested nine Uzbeks.
The Uzbek nationals entered Chaman from Afghanistan and were intending to shift to other areas of Balochistan, the sources said, adding that the arrested foreigners had been shifted to unknown place for interrogation.
