Karachi: ACLC arrests 6 car-lifters
KARACHI: Anti Car–Lifting Cell (ACLC) arrested six car–lifters and recovered five cars, 10 CNG kits, five car tape recorders, one kilogram of Charas and two TT pistols from them on Monday. According to the police, the policemen in a mobile van of the ACLC Gulshan–e-Iqbal Town during their routine patrolling at Sir Shah Sulaman Road, gave a signal to a Toyota Corolla bearing a number plate of Z-1771 to stop. The car riders after seeing the mobile sped away. The police chased the car and later arrested Abdul Ghafoor and Malik Basheer. During the search of their vehicle they recovered two TT pistols and one kilogram of Charas from them.
The accused during initial interrogation said that they had stolen the vehicle from Aziz Bhatti police area. The accused admitted that they had stolen several other vehicles as well. On their disclosure police raided their hideout near Yousuf Goth situated in Surjani Town and arrested Waris Ali, Muhammad Ayoub, Gulzar and Shaban. The police on their tip raided different places and recovered cars AB-3794, K-6706, W-8030, AB-0536, 10 CNG kits and five car tape recorders along with speakers.
