Peshawar: Human traffickers among 4 arrested
PESHAWAR: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) here on Friday arrested four persons involved in human trafficking, illegal money exchange and medicines, officials said. FIA spokesman Shahid Illyas told Daily Times that the agency raided the Fast Track Consultancy and recovered forged travelling documents and other material. It arrested a person Shafiq Ali, son of Mashooq Ali, resident of Tehkal Bala, Peshawar. He said that the FIA also arrested two persons Daud Khan and Abdul Majeed involved in illegal money trade and recovered around US $3,000 and Rs 800,000 from their possession.
The spokesman said that the cheques recovered from their possession showed that they had sent around Rs 30–40 million abroad during the past one month.
Illyas further said that FIA also raided a medicine store Faiz Surgical Medicose and arrested its owner Yar Mohammad, son of Musali Khan, resident of Yakkatoot (Peshawar) for selling medicines provided to hospitals by the government for free distribution among poor patients.
FATA Sectt opens outreach office: The FATA Secretariat has established a public outreach office at Peshawar office of the secretariat to provide improved public outreach facilities to the communities in the tribal areas.
According to an official release issued here on Friday, the office was inaugurated by Director Projects FATA Fakhar Alam at a ceremony held here at FATA Secretariat, Warsak Road.
