Lahore: Ex-hockey coach on judicial remand
LAHORE: An anti terrorism court Saturday sent former coach of Pakistan Hockey Team, Naveed Alam, and his friend Yousaf on judicial remand until November 1. According to prosecution, CIA police arrested Naveed Alam and his friend, Muhammad Yousaf, for sheltering a criminal at his Wahdat Colony office. CIA police arrested them after Naveed Alam and his friend Yousaf on resistance. The police alleged that Naveed Alam gave a pistol to the criminal who later opened fire at the police party and fled. Umer Irshad, a passer-by, was hit by a bullet in his neck and died on the spot when the criminal fired at the police party, the prosecution said.
