Thatta: Police recover 2 hostages, arrest 2 dacoits
THATTA: The Thatta Police, led by DPO (Operation) Sultan Khawaja and DPO (Investigation) Malik Zafar, got two hostages freed from the clutches of bandits on Sunday. The recovered hostages, identified as Manzoor Solangi and Aftab Zaunr, were kidnapped by the gang of notorious dacoit Laung Soorjo, a few days earlier. Police also claimed to have arrested two dacoits and seized arms and ammunition from their possession while Laung Soorjo and his gang’s other members managed to escape.
Police sources said that after receiving information that a gang of the notorious dacoit was present in the Merino forest of Indus River, they cordoned off the area and an encounter ensued.
The brief but fierce encounter resulted in the recovery of the two hostages. Two dacoits were also arrested during the operation who were identified as Yaroo Khaskheli and Ghafoor Rind. Later, the hostages were brought to the Jhirk police station and handed over to their relatives. DPO Sultan Khawaja addressing a press conference at his office on Sunday evening said police parties had sent behind the fleeing dacoits.
