Islamabad: 4 arrested in connection with car-snatching
ISLAMABAD: The Koral Police took into custody four men after recovery of a snatched car from their custody, police said. An incident of car snatching at gunpoint was reported on October 23 from the area in the jurisdiction of the Koral Police Station. SSP (Islamabad) Captain (r) Ahmad Latif took a serious view of it and directed DSP (Rural Circle) Liaquat Hayat to constitute a special team for nabbing thieves. A team, headed by Inspector Arshad Ali (SHO of the Koral Police Station) and comprising Muhammad Riaz (sub-inspector), Muhammad Sajjad (assistant sub–inspector) and Ahsanullah (assistant sub–inspector), was constituted to nab gangsters involved in the crime after registration of a case under Sections 395/412/109 PPC and 17 Haraba.
The team took up the investigation and arrested 4 men identified as Azmat Khan, son of Iftikhar Ahmad, resident of Peshawar; Said Wali, son of Gulab Din, resident of Peshawar; Aminullah, son of Nusrat Jan, belonging to Shabqadar, and recovered the snatched vehicle from them.
The fourth accused — Noor, son of Murtaza, belonging to Mohmand Agency — was sent to the judicial lockup in Peshawar. His case has been taken up with the NWFP government for his transfer to Islamabad for further investigation.
