Lahore: German drug dealer jailed
LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge on Tuesday awarded three years imprisonment to a German drug dealer and imposed a fine of Rs.100,000 on him. The accused namely Walker was arrested allegedly with over one and a half kg Heroin by the Airport police some months back. The judge sent him to jail after he failed to prove his innocence. In case of default, the accused will have to undergo four months more imprisonment. Three cars, 23 bikes recovered from two dacoit gangs: CIA city division has arrested 29 dacoits of two inter-provincial gangs. SSP Investigation Zulfiqar Hameed stated this while addressing a press conference at the Qila Gujar Singh Investigation Headquarters on Tuesday.
He said police recovered four stolen trucks, three cars, Rs 1.7 million, 23 motorbikes, 30 cell phones, two police uniforms from the arrested dacoits. As many as 23 illegal arms were also seized from them.
The SSP investigation said the arrested members of Zaheer alias Hakeem gang used to rob citizens after wearing police uniforms. Impersonating police officers, they used to stop citizens on the pretext of checking. The other arrested gang, Asif gang, used to rob citizens on roads, in houses, factories and godowns.
The arrested accused were identified as Muhammad Arif, Mudassar, Mumtaz, Pervez, Nasar, Alam Zeb, Arshad, Ghulam Sarwar, Muhammad Khan, Sadique, Khan Veez Khan, Jehangir, Javed, Musharraf, Farooq, Shahi, Tariq, Salahuddin, Shahid, Nazeer, Aslam, Ameen, Yousaf, Muzammil, Zahid, Khurram, Irfan and Zaheer alias Hakeem.
During the preliminary interrogation, the members of two gangs have confessed to committing 79 incidents of street crimes and dacoities in Lahore, Jhelum, Sheikhupura, Rawalpindi, Mansehra, Peshawar, Abbotabad, Islamabad, Gujrat and Haripiur Hazara.
Capital City Police Officer Muhammad Pervez Rathore has announced cash prizes and commendatory certificates for the police teams.
