Landi Kotal: Forces arrest 25 Uzbek nationals
LANDI KOTAL: Pakistani officials Thursday deported 17 Afghans national and were handed over to Afghan authorities at Torkham border and arrested 25 Uzbek nationals travelling without valid documents. According to officials of political administration, the deported persons were handed over by Peshawar Police to the political administration of Khyber Agency after completing their sentences in different jails of the NWFP under 14 Foreign Act.
In another incident, the security forces arrested at least 25 Uzbeks nationals while illegally entering into Pakistan through Torkham border point. They were later shifted to Landi Kotal Jail for further investigation.
Meanwhile, the political administration of Khyber Agency put security on high alert by imposing ban on the illegal entry of Uzbeks, Tajiks, Turkemens and Hazara on Pak–Afghan border.
Naib Tehsildar Landikotal Nek Muhammad told reporters that the political administration of the Khyber Agency has put security on high alert in the agency and ordered security officials not to allow residents of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Hazara, who are traveling to Pakistan without valid documents.
He said that these foreigners were making law and order situation in the agency and numbers of security personals were also increased on Torkhan entry point in order to stop illegal entry of people from Afghanistan.
