Rawalpindi: Man gets death in murder case
RAWALPINDI: Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) Abdul Rehman Awan on Thursday awarded death sentence to a man for killing another in 2003 in Chontra. Muhammad Sajjad was handed down death sentence and Rs 100,000 fine for murdering Muhammad Tanveer on March 24, 2003. The murder convict will have to undergo six months imprisonment if he fails to pay fine. The court also dismissed a private complaint of Tanveer’s father about innocence of another accused, Muhammad Banaras. Separately, ASJ Ghulam Mehdi Khan acquitted four men in a murder case for being dissatisfied with investigation.
On November 1, 2005, RA Bazaar Police had booked Zahid Mehmood, Ali Babar, Tariq Mehmood and Atif Javed, for killing Jabbar Javed over the issue of parking a car.
